02:32 pm 104 degrees here and still climbing! We usually top out somewhere around 6 o'clock. :/

Comments:
It was 97 yesterday with a forecast for today of 86. Woops! This morning they upped that to 93 and it hit 96 before dropping a bit to 94. That's a good sign, as yesterday it was still 80 when I went to bed. If it cools off a bit earlier, it means the inversion layer has lifted, allowing some cooling.
So far, the NWS point forecasts have sucked this week ;p
They've been undercalling the temps here all week. We're supposed to get some relief starting tomorrow. (I hope) When we get several really hot weeks in a row my electric bill for the month goes over $300. And that's with a setting above 75. Within the last year our water meter has been changed, the gas maifold meter, and the electric meter. They did this because everything is sold to us now on a "tier rating". Just another way to screw us.
I wish I had the capital to put in a solar system and get some relief from the grid, but even with rebates a system big enough to be useful is still out of my reach.
Same here. I've looked into it and it would cost about $20K for a system that would work. The savings would take almost ten years to pay off the investment. |
